Deborah Young began her career teaching in both public and private schools. Her current role as the Director of Operations and a Program Specialist at the Institute provides her with the opportunity to continue to have an impact on students’ experiences in school. Deborah believes that mutual respect between teachers and students is essential to fostering students’ aspirations and that a key component of developing a positive, respectful learning environment is honoring everyone’s voice.

When not working at the Institute, Deb can be found camping, baking, hiking, spending time with family and friends, rooting for New England sports teams, and enjoying the great outdoors in all seasons!
